Biro-art.com has been linked to by a couple of high profile 'social networking' sites, namely Metafilter and Digg and my hits have gone through the roof! The rate at which hits are coming in has lead my host (Clook.net) to think my site is under a Denial Of Service (DOS) attack so he pulled the plug! The shared server the site was on was not robust enough to cope this thousands of requests an hours and promptley fell over taking serveral other people's sites with it. Oh dear. The Host has now very kindly moved Biro-art lock, stock and barrel over to a dedicated server for the duration of this rise in traffic where it continues to clock up vast amounts of page views per hour. Although Clook say they're not going to charge me for use of the private server (very nice people) I will still have to pay the rapidly rising bandwidth bill. Aargh.
